Inspired by “Photographs Taken at One-Hour Intervals During a Walk from Galveston Island to the West Texas Town of Marfa” by Joshua Edwards
This project embodies an act of discovery every ten minutes from 9am to 9pm with a 35mm film camera, two rolls of Velvia slide film, and a pair of legs. Resulting in a photographic adventure, the viewer walks around in a flurry of images organic to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The journey is a series of blueish-purple and pink fantastical ‘events’ that frame the underground city.
Whether the viewer might recognize a small portion or most portraits, this is only a surface layer. The creator hopes these innocent discoveries spark attention to the forgotten and overlooked beauty to the urban fabric. The process that unfolds may question the attitude and direction of the youngest architectural creations.
